EPI-READY® TO LAUNCH
WALL-MOUNTED STORAGE UNIT
Studies
In February 2008, over 230 members of the Allergy and
Asthma Foundation of America, New England Chapter (AAFANE)
responded to a joint survey conducted by Epi-Ready
and the AAFANE.
Key findings of this survey include the
following:
- More than
25% of survey respondents felt that in the event of
an emergency the epinephrine auto-injector could not
be found in their home.
- 50% of the
time the epinephrine auto-injector is not where it
is usually stored because it has been removed and
not returned.
- When asked
about access at locations such as schools, daycare
centers, and preschools, 1 out of 5 respondents were
not able to say “yes” when asked if they could find
the emergency epinephrine at these locations.
- Only 50% of
all families responding felt comfortable that
individuals employed or present at school, daycare,
or preschool could find the emergency epinephrine in
a timely manner during an emergency.
- When
Epi-Ready® was presented to the survey audience, 9
out of 10 families felt home and school were
essential locations for Epi-Ready®. Next were
camps, preschool/afterschool programs, daycare, and
restaurants. Half of the respondents considered a
relative’s home or a friend’s home to be a useful
location for Epi-Ready®.
